We are very lucky at Stockbridge Primary School to have a very experienced, stable teaching staff who know all of our children well.
Whether working 1 day a week or all 5, they all value getting to know every child and this is just one of the reasons that our children are happy at school.
Having joined the school in 2011, Mrs Jefferies has seen the school grow and grow. She’s always in and out of classrooms, having taught across the primary age range. She considers herself very lucky to work with a great staff, governors and community.
As well as being Deputy, Miss Tregunna is also our Year 2/3 teacher. She leads IT and Geography in school and loves residentials and trips out and about. After teaching Year 6 for a few years, she’s returning to her roots in Key Stage 1 and early Key Stage 2 in 2017/18 with and Year 2/3 mix and there’s nobody with more experience for this than her!
Miss Caws brilliantly teaches Year 5/6 and is becoming something of an expert at this mixed class, upper school mix. She is our Science lead, following her degree interest in the subject and bringing to life our exciting curriculum and this year, is covering Maths during Mrs Whittington’s maternity cover With residentials at Calshot and Wales to come this year, Miss Caws will be a keen walker by the end of the year, like it or not!!
Having joined us in September 2020, Mrs Natt teaches our Year 4/5 class and has been busy already inspiring children in her class and beyond to get reading. Her natural enthusiasm and passion for teaching shines through in all she does and children in her class benefit from her rigorous approach to teaching and learning and her huge sense of fun. She has a particular passion for History having studied this at degree level but also leads on Art for us too.
Year R teacher, Mrs Cooper joined us in September 2017 and hasn’t looked back! Sprat & Winkle class (Year R) benefit from her great ideas, kind and patient nature and cheeky sense of fun! Mrs Cooper is our music and RE leader and has had a busy summer since lockdown preparing a brilliant music plan for the whole school. Mrs Cooper is also Forest School trained and is often found in waterproofs and a warm bobble hat!
Mrs McClue is our PPA cover teacher; a vital cog in our school. Being in this role means she knows every child in the school well and supports the teachers in their planning and assessment. Hugely skilled, with a passion for French, Mrs McClue is inspiring even our youngest children to have a go at a new language. Her support and great teaching ensures that children receive the support they require to succeed.
Miss Garrett joins us in September 2021 and will be teaching our Year 1/2 class. Despite COVID, we’ve got to know her pretty well already and she’s been enthusiastically sorting her classroom and preparing a fun learning environment for her new class over the summer. Miss Garrett is also a History specialist but loves travel, walking and exploring so is sure to embrace our nature education.
Mrs Whittington has returned from Maternity leave and is taking up the role of SENDCo from September 2021. We were keen to keep her experience and knowledge and she knows so many of the children so well already that we thought this would be the best fit for our children as well as for her and our staff team!
