We are very lucky at Stockbridge Primary School to have a very experienced, stable teaching staff who know all of our children well.
Whether working 1 day a week or all 5, they all value getting to know every child and this is just one of the reasons that our children are happy at school.
Having joined the school in 2011, Mrs Jefferies has seen the school grow and grow. She’s always in and out of classrooms, having taught across the primary age range. She considers herself very lucky to work with a great staff, governors and community.
As well as being Deputy, Miss Tregunna is also our Year 2/3 teacher. She leads IT and Geography in school and loves residentials and trips out and about. After teaching Year 6 for a few years, she’s returning to her roots in Key Stage 1 and early Key Stage 2 in 2017/18 with and Year 2/3 mix and there’s nobody with more experience for this than her!
As year 4/5 class teacher and English lead, Mrs Hughes has a busy job in school keeping all of our writing and reading up to scratch as well as teaching and passing on her love of books and reading to the children in her class and beyond. Mrs Hughes is also our art leader and works with her class and children throughout the school to produce great art works which are on display in school.
Miss Caws joined us in September 2016 and has been a breath of fresh air! This year she takes on Science leadership, following her degree interest in the subject and bringing to life our exciting curriculum. With residentials at Calshot and Wales to come this year, Miss Caws will be a keen walker by the end of the year, like it or not!!
Our Year 1/2 teacher, Miss Broadhead, joined us 4 years ago and is also our maths leader, who takes particular pleasure in getting everyone going on Mathletics and learning their times tables in super speedy ways!
Year R teacher, Miss Kirkham joins us in September 2017 and has the promise of a bright, fresh new classroom that she’s spending time in the holidays turning into an exciting learning environment for Year R on their own. This is a really exciting time at school as we branch into having Year R as a separate year group.
PPA teacher and Year 6 cover teacher when Miss Tregunna is on her leadership time, Mrs McClue is a vital cog in our school. With a passion for French, Mrs McClue is inspiring even our youngest children to have a go at a new language!
A vital role in our small school is that of SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator). Mrs Timmons works one day a week, on a Thursday usually, but keeps us on track with our SEN provision and challenges staff to improve daily learning for all children too. As a very experienced SENCo, Mrs Timmons also supports Mrs Hutchinson with pre-school SEN issues.
