Shaping Learning For Life

Stockbridge - Primary and Pre-school

Our School Councillors are elected by the children in their year groups in the first two weeks of term.  This year Elliott, Layla, Jemima, Florence, Luke, Evie, Reuben, Harry, Lucy & Harrison were voted in by their peers and they’re already beginning to make a difference!

They represent their classmates in lots of different areas of school life.

The most recent issues they have discussed have been:

  • The use of the friendship bench at playtimes and how to make sure that it is being used by people who need it
  • Fundraising ideas for new huff and puff equipment
  • How to ensure that our cloakrooms and toilets are being looked after by everyone

In addition to this, the children choose the charity that they would like the school to focus on each year.  This year, from their initial selection, they have settled upon supporting ‘Amazing Alice’.  This brilliant charity is brand new and set up in memory of our catering manager’s daughter Alice, who died in May 2017.  More information about the charity can be found here on the Amazing Alice website.  Children chose it because they felt it was totally for children and their families and it was someone we know.
