From March 23rd 2020, school has been far from shut! During lockdown 1 we opened to key worker and vulnerable children with approx 20 children in school each day for the first 8 weeks and staff in on a rota system with 2.5 weeks in between their ‘shifts’ in school meaning if they fell ill, there was enough time for isolation. When working at home during this time, they were busy providing high quality home learning via Google classroom.
From 1st June other year groups were opened up by Government, we welcomed back 95% of Year R, initially 65% rising to 90% of Year 1 back in and 88% of Year 6 back in. Our key worker group grew too as people were encouraged to return to work and we split from being 1 group of mixed ages to an upper and lower school group. This totalled around 66% of the school population.
During the current lockdown in January 2021, approx 48% of the school are in school. 36% children of key workers, 6% children with EHCPs and the remaining 6% being vulnerable.
